@Mail Ajax Calendar Progress

September 5, 2006

The @Mail development team have been busy rewriting the inbuilt Calendar of @Mail with Ajax support and a completely new framework.

The new Calendar features:

  • Support for daily, weekly and monthly view
  • Appointments are loaded directly from the server in XML
  • Full Ajax support - Desktop application responsiveness, users can delete, make new appointments and resize events in realtime
  • Support for Shared appointments, add calendars for other users on the system easily
  • Outlook Sync support for Calendar/Task data

We aim to include the new Ajax Calendar in the next major feature patch of @Mail, due early October.

Our goal is to provide a lightweight Gmail calendar alternative, that you can download and install on your own server, and offer the service to your customers and optionally rebrand/customize the interface.

In the meantime see the screenshots below for the progress of our development team:

Keep tuned for the new developments to @Mail, we will post a beta version of the new Calendar via the online demo soon.

  1. Hello,
    Looking forward to the upgrade. Have a few questions. Will the next patch be able to sync the shared calendar and contacts automatically as well as the personal calendar and contacts with outlook? I am finding that when installing the autosync on outlook 00 or 03, it will autosync new calendar appointments no problem, but the old calendar appointments do not sync. Will there be a patch for that? Great job guys.. Love the product.
