Atmail 6.05 available - Improved performance and migration scripts

Atmail 6 - Webmail interfaceWith over a week of optimizations and enhancements from the last minor patch, Atmail 6.0.5 is now available. The main focus for the release is a production ready Atmail 5.X to Atmail 6 migration script, 2-5X speed improvement for the CalDAV server, and a host of Webmail and Admin enhancements.

Below are the latest changes in the 6.0.5 patch

Migration:

New Features:

  • Improved performance of Calendar server 2-5X speed increase, with Mysql cache and lookup optimizations
  • Implemented DKIM in the SMTP server and Admin control panel
  • DKIM rejections available via the Dashboard > Spam graphs
  • Added Groupware and Shared Addressbook toggle on/off via Webadmin
  • Search users implemented for Subadmin user

Improvements:

  • Admin
  • Improved structure of SSL certificates for IMAP/SMTP/DKIM in the Webadmin
  • New “Upgrade Software” feature via Webadmin > License tab - Automatically update software versions for each new release
  • Calendar Server
  • Improved MySQL usage for speed
  • MySQL table names using correct Atmail 6 name formatting
  • Now handles invalid users in UserSession table
  • Calendar Client
  • Now caches event results more intelligently
  • Improved CalDav protocol use - Login speed increased significantly
  • Webmail Client
  • Spanish, German, French, and Italian added to the login page for Webmail language
  • Deferred folder totals update so that first view doesn’t take so long
  • Caching implementation being revised. Message caching functional again
  • Folder LIST caching implemented (combine with global caching still todo)
  • Folder CAPABILITY caching implemented (combine with global caching still todo)
  • Gracefully handle inaccessible messages with error

Bugs Fixed:

  • Admin
  • Fixed sql error when clicking a domain to get a list of users
  • Implemented global $.php and $.ajax.beforesend and .complete events to add and remove the loading icon
  • Migration
  • Fixed bad usersession data not being imported correctly
  • Fixed typo that meant correct language setting was not migrated into Atmail6 database
  • Webmail
  • Contact delete fixed
  • Now does not display unusable options to external IMAP account users
  • Implemented global $.php and $.ajax.beforesend and .complete events to add and remove the loading icon
  • Improved Abook entry handling to prevent duplicates
  • Made tmpFolderBaseName compulsory in returnPreparedMessageArray args to eliminate inadvertently calling without proper folder name
