 New Atmail 6.1.4 - Groups, New Langauges, Signup Page and WebSync UTF-8 Support

Atmail 6.1.4 release
Today we announce Atmail 6.1.4 - With ongoing development of Atmail, we want to take the opportunity to share the big new things we are doing.

Atmail 6 now includes Group Support on a domain or group basis for POP3/IMAP/Webmail support, Groupware toggle, WebSync toggle and Groupware permissions - either site or domain wide. The new Websync now has full internationalization with UTF8 supporting Arabic, Japanese and Eastern Character sets and more.

Atmail 6 now includes a new Signup form - Allow your users to create email accounts for a Hotmail/Yahoo type service; the new release makes it even easier to create a customized login pages styled to match your existing site’s images, color scheme and style. A guide to creating new login styles is available and examples of new login page styles can be accessed via our CSS login style blog entry.

Atmail includes a fully translated Web-Admin interface as well as inclusion of Brazilian, Portuguese, improved German language support and a new Chinese translation.

New Features:

  • New Signup form. Allow your users to create email accounts for a Hotmail/Yahoo type service
  • New languages support including German, Portuguese, Brazilian and Chinese.
  • New WebSync international characters support.
  • Full group manager that now allows you to define on a domain or group basis, which features and functionality your end users have access too
  • Various SQL optimizations to improve speed for Webmail, Mailserver and Admin pages.

Improvements:

  • Improved security for XSS issues
  • Improved Webmail client , further refining of the user-interface, interactions and cross browser support
  • Improved quota calculations used by the Admin panel, POP3/IMAP server and SMTP delivery
  • MD5 password set by default for AdminUsers
  • Calendar server now restricts access to details of logged in user only.

Issues Fixed:

  • Fixed XSS vulnerability in webmail client
  • Fixed various height composer issues
  • Fixed browser lockup if blank search term used
  • Fixed various installer and migration script compatibility errors
  • Corrected WebSync update url for legacy version
  • Fixed various international character issues for mail server
  • Groups list users are correctly paginating
  • Fixed various address rendering issues
  • Fixed JS error on emailing a draft
  • Now displays unknown for drafts without an email address
  • Now does not forget last scroll position in mail list
  • Fixed various issues when search pane is open
  • Fixed use of depreciated Zend Auto loader which was causing issues.
  • Fixed security issue with listing all emails registered with calendar server
  • Fixed shared calendars sometimes appearing without owner title
  • Fixed calendars created appearing under correct owner
  • Now permanently sets the calendar color on creation
  • Fixed availability widget width
  • Fixed availability display under IE7/IE8
  • Fixed shared calendar delete button available
  • Fixed Private calendar delete button available
  • Fixed editable shared calendar name
  • Fixed no calendar selected after calendar removal
  • Fixed sql settings not being published to the configuration files
  • Fixed locking domains not displaying lock after refresh
  • Corrected field description in Global Settings
  • Corrected smtp auth being able to be turned off
  • Fixed Userview showing Domain Disabled for External accounts

  1. Is there documentation on the new features? Specifically how to use the user groups and their role on the server. There is a brief snippet in the admin guide about it, but thats all I could find.
    Since 6.1.5 was released, does this mean that reoccurring events has been pushed to the 6.1.6 release?
