  1. good to see ActiveSync, and best of all it taps into the CalDAV database, so does this mean i can run CalDAV on my macs in iCal and and use ActiveSync on my iPhones & Outlook clients and all would work well and sync across?

do you have plans to make the ActiveSync Conatcs tap into the CardDAV database as well?

  2. How about CardDav?

    Comment by Ernst — September 2, 2010 @ 7:03 pm
  3. @Jono - Exactly, you can use CalDAV with your macs , and use the Atmail ActiveSync feature on your mobile phones

ActiveSync currently uses the Atmail SQL contact database and CardDAV will be on its way next.

  4. @Ernst - Atmail includes a CardDAV client already - For a CardDAV server, we’ll be adding this to the next major update.

  5. Will the evaluation download come with one trial ActiveSync licence to test it out?

  6. Hi Ben,
Is there a page with instructions on how to safely upgrade the current 6.1.9 version to 6.2 version.

    Thanks.

    Regards,
    Fahd

  7. I would like to see the ability to turn on massmail for users so that they can massmail from the webmail interface.

Is that something that will be added in the future?

  8. @Mat - Currently Massmail is a admin only feature.

We’ll extend this function to the Subadmin in the next major patch. However not the end-user, not a feature thats in high demand.

Remember, we include the full source-code of Atmail so your welcome to extend as per your needs

  11. Do the ActiveSync licenses work with the 5-user version? Or is an “enterprise version” needed?

  12. One more question: Is th ActiveSync component part of the server or the webmail install? I am running Leopard Server, where you only offer the Webmail component…

  13. And the there were two others:
    - Does Atmail support the ActiveSync remote wipe feature?
    - Has anybody tried to use Atmail in combination with AstraSync, e.g. to connect to Blackberry devices?

    Comment by PK — September 7, 2010 @ 4:42 am
  14. @PK ActiveSync is only available with the commercial Atmail version, not the 5-user free edition. You can use ActiveSync with the Webmail instance of Atmail, it will still sync mail/contacts/calendar.

Remote wipe feature is not yet implemented. For AstraSync we have not tested this, however it should work against the Atmail ActiveSync backend.

  15. New Atmail-push module, is it server push where the request for mail delivery is initiated by the atmail server or is it pull technology,
where the request for the mail delivery is initiated by client?

Is atmail push requires “Always on” GPRS or 3G connection?

    Comment by Nebojsa Kuduz — September 13, 2010 @ 2:30 am
  16. @Nebojsa We implement the full Exchange ActiveSync protocol which is compatible with Windows Mobile, Android, iPhone and other mobile handsets

We implement a true push protocol - You can read all the technical details at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchange_ActiveSync

Via the online demo you can login and test ActiveSync directly with your mobile device

  17. Still no “purge users” - this has been missing V5? When do you expect this feature to go live??
