 Power to your Outlook - Atmail 6.1.6 released

Today we announce Atmail 6.1.6 - With exciting new features such as shared WebSync support, new login theme, new plugin framework and admin management.

Atmail 6 now includes Shared/Group Synchronization Support of your Atmail calendar and address book to MS Outlook via a reworked WebSync. The new Websync has improved support for CalDAV calendars via Atmail with all personal and shared calendars available inside Outlook. This represents a large leap in plugin functionality for WebSync and it means that Atmail 6 is a excellent solution for Exchange/Groupware installations.

You may have an iPhone with a subscribed calendar from Atmail that you shared with your sales team. You have an incredible lead and need your team to attend, how do you organize this? Simple! Create an event on your iPhone, and users of outlook will be able to have this synced directly to their account, using CalDAV and the updated MAPI plugin for Atmail.

WebSync features a permission model based on the users group or site-wide. Allowing ISPs to delegate control of users to share data within their domain/group only.

 CSS Competition Winner

Our competition for the best CSS login page theme has finished and we are pleased to award the winner:

 Minor group patch available in 6.1.5

We have released a minor update for Groups support, after releasing 6.1.4 we discovered some users database schema was incompatible with the new feature.

Please upgrade to 6.1.5 to resolve this issue.

 New Atmail 6.1.4 - Groups, New Langauges, Signup Page and WebSync UTF-8 Support

Atmail 6.1.4 release
Today we announce Atmail 6.1.4 - With ongoing development of Atmail, we want to take the opportunity to share the big new things we are doing.

Atmail 6 now includes Group Support on a domain or group basis for POP3/IMAP/Webmail support, Groupware toggle, WebSync toggle and Groupware permissions - either site or domain wide. The new Websync now has full internationalization with UTF8 supporting Arabic, Japanese and Eastern Character sets and more.

Atmail 6 now includes a new Signup form - Allow your users to create email accounts for a Hotmail/Yahoo type service; the new release makes it even easier to create a customized login pages styled to match your existing site’s images, color scheme and style. A guide to creating new login styles is available and examples of new login page styles can be accessed via our CSS login style blog entry.

Atmail includes a fully translated Web-Admin interface as well as inclusion of Brazilian, Portuguese, improved German language support and a new Chinese translation.

New Features:

  • New Signup form. Allow your users to create email accounts for a Hotmail/Yahoo type service
  • New languages support including German, Portuguese, Brazilian and Chinese.
  • New WebSync international characters support.
  • Full group manager that now allows you to define on a domain or group basis, which features and functionality your end users have access too
  • Various SQL optimizations to improve speed for Webmail, Mailserver and Admin pages.

 CSS Competition

January 28, 2010

With the new version of Atmail including improved support for CSS themes, we are starting a competition for the best designed CSS login page theme!

The winner will be announced on the 16th of February 2010 and will be given a free 1,000 user license of Atmail and have their theme included in future Atmail releases as the 4th choice for the default login page.

To enter, create a new CSS theme for the Atmail login page (feel free to use the evaluation version for reference) and provide a URL or CSS file as a comment on the blog.

 New Atmail 6.1.3 - LDAP/ActiveDirectory support, Login Themes and Sieve Filters

New Atmail 6.1.3

Today we announce Atmail 6.1.3 - With new features including full LDAP and ActiveDirectory support, new login page themes, Sieve email filtering, support for PHP 5.2.12, and a host of improvements to the Admin and Webmail user interfaces including the long awaited Forward as attachment, or forward inline.

This update also includes the Zend library upgraded to the latest and includes security related patches. We recommend strongly upgrading to this version.

 Atmail 6 Free Demo License Now Includes SubAdmin

Due to popular demand we’re pleased to announce that the Atmail 6 Free Demo License now includes access to Atmail’s SubAdmin feature. If you install Atmail 6 and register with the Free License from today you will automatically have access to SubAdmin. If you have previously installed and registered with the Free License, then you will need to register Atmail with a new serial key. To get the new serial key follow these simple steps:

  • Visit http://atmail.com/register-license.php
  • scroll down to the “Free License Activation” section, enter your email address and click the button.
  • Copy the serial displayed on the screen
  • Login into your Atmail 6 WebAdmin and go to the License tab
  • Enter the email address you submitted on the Free License Activation form into the DownloadID field and paste the serial you copied into the Serial Key field. Click “Register License” in the top right of the page.
  • Logout of WebAdmin and log back in, you should now have access to the SubAdmin feature via the “Security” tab.

 Atmail 6.1.1 available - OSX & Suse support, improved search and migration scripts

Today we announce Atmail 6.1.1, which includes full OSX support for Snow Leopard server. If you are an existing OSX server administrator, you can use Atmail Webmail as a replacement for the bundled Squirrelmail and offer your mail users an enhanced Webmail platform, full integration with the existing CalDAV server, and use Atmail’s stunning Web UI.

Suse Enterprise Server 11 & OpenSuse 11 are now fully supported for the server-edition of Atmail. Complete mailserver, CalDAV and Webmail client features, including dependency installation on the host server.

Included in the new 6.1.1 release is improved ArchiveVault integration via the Webadmin - Enable/Disable archiving and configure Atmail with ease.

 Outlook Websync now available in Atmail 6.1

The long awaited Outlook Websync support is now available in Atmail 6.1 released today.

You can test-drive the new release via the online demo, and download the Websync plugin to evaluate.
With the Atmail plugin, users can synchronize contacts, calendar events and tasks with the Atmail server. Atmail is one of very few products which supports a synchronization path between Outlook and open-protocol CalDAV servers.

Outlook Websync plugin

The data synchronized is made available via the Webmail interface, allowing you to keep Outlook and Webmail in sync. Any new data created in either Outlook or the Webmail interface are synchronized together.

In addition the new Atmail 6.1 release contains a host of new features and enhancements, these include:
