As a WebMail Client, @Mail is accessible to users via any web browser or wireless device. Requests are handled by the webserver, Apache, which runs the @Mail WebMail Client application written in PHP.

User Settings, Address Book, Calendar/Task, profiles and account information are stored in a MySQL database. In Client Mode, email delivery and storage control are retained by the SMTP and POP3/IMAP server, which is accessed by the WebMail Client of @Mail.

The WebMail Client of @Mail supports any existing POP3/IMAP server running under Unix/Linux or Windows systems. These include:

• Unix/Linux: Sendmail, Courier, Qmail, Postfix, Exim, qpopper, Cyrus, Dovecot, uw-imap - Any POP3/IMAP servers which are RFC-compliant.
